When I first saw an image of the Hot Lips plant, I could not believe it was real, yet Palicourea elata is a tropical plant indigenous to Central and South American rainforests. The red lips are the leaves of the plant, while the heads of the women are the flowers. This illustration is one big love fest between women and the plant world.
This digitally-illustrated fine art Giclée print is printed with 11 inks for ultra-rich color and printed on archival paper with an archival life of 80+ years.
The gorgeous, smooth cotton-based paper, Hahnemühle Photorag, has a matte finish and allows for muted blacks, excellent detail, an even color reproduction, and vibrant color gradients. I equate the texture and color to rich velvet.
